Kuoppala farm

The farm has been in the family since 1849. The first owners were Delila Heikkis daughter and Erik Jeremias son since 1849. After them, Henriika and Edvard Kauppi ran the farm since 1902. The third host and hostess were since 1946 Tyyne and Aleksi Kauppi.

Year 1976 the farm was moved over to the current owners Anja (née Kauppi) and Eero Koivulahti. It remains to be seen if neither of the children will continue farming (Tomi, born 1978 and Riina, born 1980).

The farm is located in Southern Finland, in municipality of Luopioinen, right in the middle of village Puutikkala.There are about 28 hectares field, of which about 8 hectares are rented from foreigner, plus 79 hectares forest. Most of the fields are grass. Grain growing remained background at that stage when the farm started to follow Suomen Rehus NARU project.

The cowshed is renovated in 1983 and at the moment there lives 32 Holstein-Friesian cows.18 of them are in milk.

Many years' investments to the quality of milk were rewarded in 2001 when the farm got Walter Ehrstöms golden medal (25 years the best milk quality).

The farm has also a quality system.
